Welcome to CLL!
Chesterfield Little League was founded in 1988 with the intention of providing a safe, fun and competitive place for the youth of our area to play baseball & softball and grow into young men and women with a strong sense of community. We have since grown to support 800+ baseball players and an excellent softball program that supports over 200 additional players. Our program is available for players as young as 3 (must turn 4 by August 31 of the current year) thru the age of 16.
We support athletes who reside or go to school along the Hull Street Corridor and surrounding areas (see our boundary map for more details). The majority of our games are hosted at our Manchester High School Complex or Horner Park Complex sites. Our older baseball divisions and softball have the opportunity to play teams outside our league against other Little League teams in our district.
Our Spring Season runs from Mid-March until Mid-June with an average of 15 games including playoffs.
Our Fall Season kicks off in September and extends through late October.
Chesterfield Little League prides itself on providing competitive, but fair play. Our Spring Season is considered competitive play, including playoffs and the opportunity to participate in All-Stars tournaments. Therefore we conduct a player draft each spring to evenly distribute the talent among teams. Fall Ball is an instructional season designed to focus on player development. Therefore, players are placed on teams by the CLL Board. All players are included in the batting order and we have fair play rules so that all players receive equal playing time.
We invest in pre-season coach training so that your child receives quality instruction during practices and games. We have 20+ board members who volunteer their time throughout the year make our spring and fall seasons a success. During all games we strive to have board members present at each complex to ensure things run smoothly.
We also take time for fun! We start the Spring Season with Opening Day which includes a player parade of all teams from T-ball to Senior and a big party afterward. We celebrate Home Runs and Pitching No Hitters or Perfect Games throughout the season.
Post-season play continues into the summer. Teams are selected through a nomination process that accounts for a player's performance throughout the season. Players age 8-16 are eligible for District All-Stars. Teams that are successful during their tournament games have a chance to advance to the State level competition. From there, teams can compete at Regionals and possibly the ultimate venue: the Little League World Series!
